Viola da Samba Trio - Soprano, Viola da gamba, Clavichord
Viola da Samba is a project creating a bridge between Renaissance and Brazilian music. The purity of early music instruments revives the essence of sounds from the past, blending with the vivacious and rich harmonies and rhythms of samba and bossa nova. This trio with soprano, viola da gamba and clavichord offers repertoire which reaches from music of the Renaissance up to Bossa nova, passing through Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous music. Brazilian composer, Jean Kleeb, brilliantly arranges Samba and Bossa for these exquisite instruments. Nadine Balbeisi’s delicate and refined voice, Jean Kleeb’s mastery of playing bossa chords on the clavichord and Fernando Marin’s skillful bowing of the viola gamba create a perfect musical symbiosis.
