Participatory Panel Discussion | Codex Artists

Come hear from some of the more than 50 artists, poets, designers, and activists who had a hand in the sanctuary//codex project. We will be doing a collaborative artist talk and reading from 6-8 p.m. in the gallery at Black Iris.

Some possible topics include:

What role does art play in the prison reform/ prison abolition movement?

What role SHOULD art play in these movements?

Who are the people in the codex and how can we hear more from them?

What are the ethical concerns with working with art and writing created by people who are incarcerated?

What role does Broad Street's Art Walk play in the projecting or silencing of voices like these?
